KUALA LUMPUR: Ten players will compete in the Allianz Junior Football Camp (AJFC) Asia in Bangkok on July 16 to 19 with a chance to train with 28-time Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich next month.
At the AJFC Asia, the two best Malaysian players will be selected to attend the AJFC Munich in Germany and train under Bayern Munich from Aug 27 to 31.
The 10 players were selected after the AJFC Malaysian League on Saturday which saw the central region becoming champions.
These players were selected based on football skills, tactical awareness, teamwork and temperament.
In the final of the grand finals at the UKM Stadium in Bangi, the central region defeated the northern region 5-0.
The AJFC Malaysia League was held on March 24 to May 13 where Felda United academy (central), KBB All Star (north), JBFA (south), Kuantan Soccerkids B (east coast), JJFC Tenom (Sabah) and Petra Giant FC (Sarawak) each emerged champions in their respective regions.
The top 18 players from each region then formed a regional team that competed in the grand finals.
“We had some fantastic teams, real talents, some great action on the pitch and some upsets along the way but that is what football is all about.
“It was tough to select just 10 boys to move on to AJFC Asia, but they represent the best of the best this year.
“I am excited for them. This is what dreams are made of,” said Allianz Malaysia Berhad chief executive officer Zakri Khir.
